Who We Are
Since 1939, Central Florida Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CFEC) has proudly served the Tri-County area. First introduced as Rural Electric Cooperative (REA), CFEC has provided electrical services to less populated areas, which otherwise would not have had affordable and reliable electric utilities.
CFEC currently serves 35,231 active accounts and 27,527 members in six counties in north central Florida. CFEC's territory includes Dixie, Gilchrist, Levy, and portions of Alachua, Lafayette and Marion Counties.
CFEC is also an active participant in various community events. Each year, CFEC raises funds for organizations such as the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life and the Tri-Counties' Hospice Care Center, and supports programs that directly benefit the people of the communities we serve.
For more information on how the cooperative operates, visit the CFEC bylaws attached below.
