Denny George has served as the General Manager of Central Florida Electric Cooperative for six years. Prior to CFEC, Denny worked for Florida Power and Light, (FPL) now NextEra Energy, for 21 years in a variety of positions including distribution engineering, field supervision, quality improvement, account management, corporate communications and power plant development. Denny left FPL to work for Progress Energy, now Duke Energy, where he held the position of account manager from the Trenton office for 12 years. In this position, he worked with complex industrial customers, such as Buckeye (now GP), PCS Phosphate, Cemex and Publix. He and his wife Hallie have been married for over 30 years and have four sons. His hobbies include, running and piloting his airplane.
